BOARD of DIRECTORS
Mr. Zhang is the CEO of Ping Petroleum and has over 20 years of oil & gas experience. At Newfield Exploration, he served in a number of petroleum engineering, corporate planning, risk management, commercial, and asset management roles.
Prior to founding Ping Petroleum, Ning spent six years in Malaysia and was Commercial Manager and Asset Manager for one of the largest offshore projects for Newfield, the East Piatu project, bringing on first oil within three years of PSC signing.
As the Commercial Manager for Newfield, he negotiated complex host tie-ins with major oil companies and National oil companies; resulting in over $750MM of value creation for stakeholders.Ning was also instrumental in capturing new PSCs with PETRONAS for Newfield.
Ning was also a Commodities Trader, transacting over $1.5 billion per year of financial NYMEX HH and WTI with major investment banks and counterparties, negotiating and leading physical transactions in Europe and Malaysia.
Ning has a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (USA) where he was distinguished as the Leader-Scholar of the Year for the College of Engineering. He also has an M.B.A. from Rice University (USA).
Dr. Kenneth Gerard Pereira
Dr. Kenneth is the Managing Director of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad.
Dr Kenneth has 27 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, both in the services and exploration and production sectors. He began his career with Schlumberger Overseas S.A. in 1983 as a Field Service Engineer working in Brunei, Thailand, France, Libya, Italy, Norway and Tunisia. In 1990, he joined the Sapura Group, overseeing the service of telecommunication products and later, moved to the Group Corporate Planning Department.
In 2003, the Sapura Group successfully acquired Crest Petroleum Berhad and he became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SapuraCrest Petroleum Berhad (now part of SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad Group), an oil and gas services company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
In 2009, Dr Kenneth became Managing Director of Interlink Petroleum Ltd, an oil and gas exploration and production company listed on the Mumbai Stock Exchange (2009 to 2011). In 2009, he was appointed to the board of STP Energy Pte Ltd, a privately held Singaporean company with offshore oil and gas exploration interests in New Zealand.
He holds a BSc (Honours) degree in Engineering from the University of Bath, United Kingdom, a Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield University, United Kingdom and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of South Australia, Australia.
Chief Executive Officer
Richard has 17 years of industry experience in oil and gas exploration business; with significant experience in petroleum accounting, joint ventures , business planning, LEAN and process improvement.
Richard was formerly the Business Finance Manager of Dana Petroleum with financial responsibility for all Operated UK and African assets. He also held direct financial and commercial responsibility for Dana’s Non Operated Business.
Prior to Dana, he spent 13 years with Hess Corporation and held various senior roles namely Country Finance, Planning and Commercial Manager (Denmark), Accounting and Business Performance Manager (Malaysia) and Business Performance Specialist (Houston).
Richard is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CIMA Qualified) with a BA (Honours) in Business Studies from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Chief Operating Officer
Colin has extensive experience built up over more than 35 years in the UK offshore oil and gas industry in both technical and management positions ranging from several major new field developments through to mature field operations.
Prior to joining AOC in May 2017 Colin was the Chief Operating Officer of Dana Petroleum with responsibility for regional operations in the UK (including the new build Western Isles FPSO vessel), the Netherlands and Egypt onshore and offshore operations.
Colin’s career has been shaped by several oil companies namely Marathon Oil where he spent fifteen years on the Brae Field assets before moving onto Kerr McGee as OIM and Operations manager for the Gryphon and Global Producer 3 FPSO’s over a five-year period.
He joined Nexen Petroleum in 2002 as Field Operations Manager on the then newly discovered Buzzard field development, transferring to the Golden Eagle development in 2010.
Colin was educated in his native Hartlepool studying at the local technical college where he served a technician apprenticeship and worked in the chemicals industry prior to his first oil and gas company assignment with Phillips Petroleum in 1980.
Wells & Subsurface Manager
Alistair has 20 years of industry experience in oil and gas; with significant experience in subsurface management, reservoir engineering, new ventures and mature field exploitation.
Alistair was formally the Exploitation Manager for Offshore Africa at CNR International with technical responsibility for all reservoir engineering, economics, new ventures, reserves auditing and life of field strategy/budgets for CNR’s operated and non-operated assets in Cote D’Ivoire, Gabon and South Africa.
Prior to CNR, he spent one year with Dana Petroleum as their Non Operated Asset Manager, where he was instrumental in the growth of the company with two significant acquisitions before Dana was acquired by KNOC. Alistair started his career with Marathon Oil as a Production Engineer and over his twelve years with the company he progressed through various subsurface roles of increasing seniority. His experience covers development and exploration projects in North Sea, Norway and Celtic Sea.
Alistair is a member of both SPE and IChemE with a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland.
